Oliver: You'd better take my temperature.

[pointing]

Oliver: Get that thermometer.

Stan: The what?

Oliver: Thermometer! You'll find it on the shelf.

[groaning]

Oliver: Ooh... ooh... ooh.

Oliver: [as Stan puts it in his mouth] Uh-um.

Oliver: [after Stan has taken his pulse] What does it say?

Stan: Wet and windy.

Oliver: Do you have to ask your wife everything?

Stan: If I didn't ask her, I wouldn't know what she wanted me to do.

Oliver: Never mind what she said. What did Betty say?

Stan: Honesty is the best politics.

Stan: I may not be king of my castle, but I certainly wouldn't allow my wife to wear any pants. I'd like to see my old woman throwing things. It's disgraceful. Never heard of such goings off. On. If my old ball and chain ever talked to me... If she even dared... You know what I'd say?

Oliver: What?

Stan: I'd say...

[Sees Betty]

Stan: Hello, honey. I...

Absolute legends.
Been watching them as a kid and still do now.

I went to the "Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia" a couple of months ago.

The one where they are lifting the piano up the steps is a classic.

Laurel & Hardy are just peerless. The greatest comedy double act ever. They were loved the world over, and still are all these years later.
Whenever I need a lift I seek them out on youtube. They never fail to make me laugh.
It's a real shame that no TV channels show them these days. It should be compulsory for the BBC to show them so many times a year, along with the brilliant Phil Silvers (Bilko). You'd think with all the dross they show, especially in the daytime, they'd find a bit of space to show some classics from time to time.

Whenever I think Laurel & Hardy I always remember when Oliver was getting married (with Stan best man) and the Priest was bog=eyed. When he asked Oliver to take this woman.. Stan replied hahaha

Next time you are in LA, you can go and see the stairs that were used in The Music Box.

Lily, the drunk was played by the magnificent Arthur Housman. James Finlayson, Charlie Hall, Butch Long, Mae Busch and Edgar Kennedy were all superb as well.

Genius really.

not sure what it is with them and pianos but there's another film I love where they try and get a piano across a rope bridge up in the mountains. hahaha

There's a brilliant statue of Stan & Ollie with a little dog, in my home town of Ulverston, outside the town hall
Every time I see it I have a little snigger to myself ~ You can just visualise something about to happen, like the dogs lead getting tangled around their legs or similar
I think there might be a picture of it on wiki

Love Stan and Ollie.
We named our Sunday Team after them - Sons of the Desert FC.

Recently I found a fantastic silent film of theirs that I'd not seen before called LIBERTY on YouTube.
Bloody marvellous. Like finding Gold.
